For too long have the nation's young and old alike lived in a distant hope of change.
For too long have each of the last 3 generations lived under the yoke of corruption, a corruption which turned from external influence to personal necessity in the wake of bureaucratic insolence.
Pakistan - the nation which was founded to be the beacon of the Pure by its very name - has become a slave to the few who command the many to 'pay up'.
No longer.
After a long and ardous wait, this new generation - our generation - of Pakistanis are in a position to change things, and they will.
The Land of the Pure - or, Mera Paak Watan - campaign aims to do 2 things and 2 things alone:
Unite us, and eradicate corruption.
In order for this to happen, we must once again unite as we did during our wars and battles with the enemy. Only this time, the war is within, the enemy our own.
Corruption is the cause of every evil that handicaps this nation. From sport to education, from careers to talent, corruption demands and dictates how we grow and where we go.
Only if every single one of us visibly takes a stand to STOP being a part of this, can it stop as well. Can you? Can you say 'no' to the lawyer who demands a bribe to get your certificate attested? Can you say 'no' to the policeman who will beat you up because you don't want to pay 50 rupees? Can you say 'no' to illegal driving licences and go get a real, legal one?
This and so many other things have become part of our daily lives, so much so that we don't even realise it. 'Chalta hai' is the opium of the masses.
Unite, my Pakistanis. Unite once and for all time. Rid us of this infection. Cleanse us of this impurity.
Make us Pure once more.
long live pakistan :)

ReplyDeleteWe all know that, but unfortunately, we don't believe in hard work, we all would like to be rich overnight.
You are asking for a wonderful but very difficult task.
Let's try and I'm sure that God will help us.
Support the women who want to drive. We can do this. We will not let our rights be withheld from us.
